Gary Bissell started AMG Auto Body and Restoration in September 2003 in the greater Dover, NH area. Gary had been in the automotive repair business since 1976, so when the opportunity arose for him to open his own auto body shop, it was just a natural fit.

Gary started in the auto business as a body repair technician. He later took on the role as the primary painter. He perfected his trade over the years, including his technique in color matching, and application. He prides himself on his work, and expects the same from his technicians.

Satisfying customers is the focus of AMG Auto Body and Restoration. Gary and his staff concentrate on providing the best service for their customers. Gary personally oversees all aspects of the work performed in his shop. He also personally works on almost every vehicle being repaired. He works directly with all the insurance companies, rental companies and insurance adjusters to provide the best experience for his customers during this very stressful time.

Offering muscle car restoration services

Gary also enjoys restoring ageless muscle cars for his clients. He has fully restored a 1969 Camaro Indianapolis Pace Car, 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible, a Hurst Oldsmobile 442, Chevrolet Laguna and Plymouth Roadrunner. These are just a handful of his many restorations. His restorations have won over 50 first place trophies, as well as Best of Show trophies, Best Paint awards, and numerous other awards and trophies. Several of his restorations have been invited to shows such as the World of Wheels, Cruisin' Magazine car shows, and Mohegan Sun Invitation Only show. His very first restoration took first place at the Oldsmobile Nationals held in New Jersey.

AMG Auto Body and Restoration is a small business, employing two additional full time technicians and one part time office support staff. Andrew Bissell, Gary's son, is an auto body technician. Andrew graduated from Dover High School, in Dover, New Hampshire. He studied auto body repair through the program at Dover High School. Andrew went on to study his craft through the Job Corps in Vergennes, Vermont. Andrew has worked at the shop since it opened.

Michael Brown is an auto body technician. Michael graduated from Dover High School, Dover, New Hampshire. He also studied auto body repair through the program at Dover High School. Michael worked with Gary prior to his employment at AMG Auto Body and Restoration.

Additionally, Becky DeVoter provides part time bookkeeping services for the business.
